Rebecca Black (born June 21, 1997) is an American pop singer who gained worldwide attention with her 2011 single "Friday". Her mother paid $4000 to have the single and an accompanying music video put out as a vanity release through the record label ARK Music Factory. The song was co-written and produced by Clarence Jey and Patrice Wilson of ARK Music Factory. After the video went viral on YouTube and other social media sites, "Friday" was derided by many music critics and viewers, who dubbed it "the worst song ever." The music video, uploaded to YouTube, has received more than 160 million views, causing Black to gain international attention as a "viral star". The song was released as a single and made the Billboard Hot 100 and other charts. As of June 2011 the video has been removed from YouTube pending a copyright claim by Black.

His debut release, My World, followed on November 17, 2009, and was eventually certified platinum in the United States. He became the first artist to have seven songs from a debut album chart on the Billboard Hot 100.

Bieber's first full studio release, My World 2.0, was released on March 23, 2010 and has since received similar success; it debuted at number one and within the top ten of several countries, and was certified platinum in the United States. It was preceded by the worldwide top-ten single, "Baby," in January 2010. The music video of "Baby" is currently ranked as the most viewed and most discussed YouTube video, and was the most disliked until being overtaken by Rebecca Black's song Friday. Bieber followed-up the release of his debut album with his first headlining tour, the My World Tour, the remix albums My Worlds Acoustic and Never Say Never – The Remixes, and the 3D biopic-concert film Justin Bieber: Never Say Never – which had an opening weekend gross that nearly matched the record for the biggest opening weekend for a concert-film.

Devin Star Tailes (born July 2, 1989), better known by her stage name Dev, is an American recording artist. She was discovered by The Cataracs when she made an Amy Winehouse cover and posted it onto MySpace. Dev's song "Booty Bounce" was sampled in Far East Movement's hit single "Like a G6" which reached number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, and sold over two million downloads in the country. Dev was signed to Universal Republic in October 2010 and released her first official single, "Bass Down Low" in December. The song debuted at number ninety-four in the US. Dev's debut album The Night the Sun Came Up is yet to be released.

Dev's electro style and "sing-talk" vocal style have been compared to fellow pop singer Ke$ha.While comparing her to Ke$ha, Idolator wrote that "Dev's beats come off a bit more mellow and her songs a little bit more electro than pop."In response to being compared to both Ke$ha and Uffie, Dev said, "I just feel that I have a lot more to say and the ability to have an eclectic sound, a very diverse pop album. She also became the first female artist to be included on MTV's Annual Hottest MC List.

While growing up Minaj was surrounded by constant trouble and fighting between her parents.To escape her real life problems she would create characters and live her life through them.
